We have a well equipped classroom with high quality facilities and an outside area that is open all the time for the children to choose whether to play inside or out. We have extensive resources and equipment to vary and maintain the interest of our children so that they develop in all areas of the curriculum. This is constantly updated and checked for safety and suitability.

Why Choose Us?

  • Your child’s safety is our number one priority. All personnel are subject to police and background checks, are First Aid Certified and wear an easily identifiable uniform.  Our purpose built classroom and secure outside play areas are subject to multiple security procedures and are regularly checked for safety and suitability to ensure your child’s safety.

  • We are registered ‘Good’ with Ofsted and follow the Early Years Foundation Stages curriculum incorporating exciting opportunities to try new experiences including cooking, gardening, clay modelling, I.T, discovering multicultural festivals and much more!

  • Tuition you can afford. We believe that early childhood education is very important, but it shouldn't break the bank. We strive to keep our fees within reach for everyone and offer funded places for all 3-4 year old and for eligible 2 year olds.

  • Experienced staff.  Our highly qualified and caring team will help your child develop and be prepared for their first day at school. We operate a Key Person System which allows staff to dedicate quality time on an individual basis to enhance learning and enjoyment.  They will oversee your child’s time at Delaware, plan their development through the educational stages, regularly review their progress  and maintain their record of achievement.

  • Fitness & Nutrition: We provide healthy snacks including fresh fruit, with both our playground area and Forest School designed to provide fun and exercise. Children are encouraged to climb, explore, run and ride outside every day, increasing their fitness levels and developing their hand-eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills.

  • Your child is an individual and we strive to ensure their needs are met and that they are nurtured to develop at their own pace, in a way that suits them.  We have a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities coordinator to ensure everyone gets the best and inclusive experiences, during their time at Pre-School.

  • Children love us! We make learning fun and encourage lots of messy and outdoor play!  The children are offered varied and exciting activities, following a different topic each week. We arrange for special visitors to come in to see the children, such as the local Police, Fire brigade, Coastguards and even the Ice Cream man!

  • School Readiness Programme Our extensive transition programme ensures that your child is fully prepared for the move to your choice of primary school. We work closely with local schools to make the sometimes daunting emotional and educational transition as smooth as possible for your child. With multiple visits and quality time spent with the Primary School teachers, your child will be familiar with the environment and how it all works by the time they start the new term. As a point of interest, it is not a requirement to attend the pre-school of your chosen Primary school in order to secure place there for your child. Although we cannot register children for school, we will provide you with all of the information you need well in advance. We aim to adopt the same term dates and training days as the local schools which we will keep you up to date with in our newsletters.
